First Tooth!

Telling Rufus all about her new find!

As Grandma Jackie says, her grandaughter is freakin' advanced! I was wondering why little missy has been so clingy/fussy lately (past few days), and I figured it out. I thought there was no way at 3 months she could possibly be teething, but I was wrong. She has been drooling up a storm, and her hands are forever in her mouth (when the paci isn't). Well, I felt her gums tonight, and thought "what the heck is that?".... on her bottom right gum, a white little tooth is poking out. I believe she is going to be like momma and have those 4 Vampire teeth eventually - and this is one of those. Wow!

See, when I thought I wasn't going to have anything exciting to post....

Sidebar: I never said I wasn't going to keep this blog going - I am! I just don't update this one as much b/c we do the same stuff everyday, so life is monotonous right now. I am going to be blogging at both sites. Don't freak out - leave that job to the mom with the 3 month old vampire.

3 months or 13 weeks? You decide

Seriously, how could you not fall in love with that face?!?!

Why is it that technically Lucy will be 3 months old on the 22nd, yet she has been around for 13 weeks. I don't get the calendar. I think it was invented by a man who didn't understand pregnancy. Seriously, whoever said pregnancy was 9 months lied - because 9 months would be 36 weeks, and women get screwed with an additional 4 weeks of torture. It is frustrating! But anyway, Lucy is growing up.

She is excelling at tummy time, liking her medicine again (finally), and looks to things when you point to them (especially trees - she loves trees). Her smile will make anyone melt. She is a true flirt, yes, just like her mommy :) She is a big girl now, and we are very proud of her. Ask me about that statement in less than a week when she is on an airplane for the first time. Can you say scared to death? I think I will take a Vicodin.
She loves her bathtime!
Cousin Sabrina showing Lucy how to eat!

Also, I have been feeling guilty about not updating this site much... I don't want to bore anyone with day-to-day trivialities. Every time I think of something I want to talk about, mainly it sounds like bragging, and that is not my style. Anyway, I started a new blog here to share my views on all things not Lucy-related. Expect that to be updated more frequently. It's not that I don't love my daughter, I just don't think you find poop that fascinating.

Getting Behind

I have absolutely no idea how my sister-in-law has time to blog daily - and she has twins! I haven't posted in 2 weeks, and it isn't due to lack of material (well, maybe a little.. I am kinda boring right now). I can't find time to do anything but Lucy-it. Luckily this past week, my wonderful mom helped me out and let me attend a 3-day workshop on Language Arts Curriculum (and earn $500 in the process!), and watched my darling daughter. Let me tell you, that was tough. I am not one to let people help me, or pretty much take over for me. I felt totally guilty the whole time for not being with my daughter, and "pawning" her off on someone else. I know, I know, it is Grandma, but still -- I just felt so bad infringing upon her time (which I know she has little of these days). Anyway, thanks Mom for all your help!

I am going to get a little bit of me time weekly though. I am back at Weight Watchers meetings tomorrow. I am determined to fit back in to my school clothes by fall. I have been Jillian-and-Leslie-ing it daily, but my body is still all messed up. That does not work well on my psyche. I'll get there. I just have to convince dear hubby that spending points on fried-anything doesn't fit my game plan. He'll deal or go out to eat, case closed :)

Here are some cute pictures from the past week or two. My little girl is growing up! So surreal!
Aunt Stacie and Lucy - right after the dreaded 2-month shots. Thanks Auntie for all your help!
Lucy in the Bumbo Chair for the first time - she is getting there with holding her head up. She loves this thing!
Lucy and Nanny - too precious!

The new "wubby"... she is 50/50 on this thing. I think she is really in it for the doggie. Guess I will have to dig out my old Pound Puppies - I hear they are making a comeback.

Lucy at her very first 4th of July fireworks extravaganza. She loved the fireworks and was extremely upset when it was over. I took a video, but am an idiot - taking video of darkness doesn't work well apparently.
My favorite picture. Daddy and daughter taking a nap "together"... they both passed out for 1.5 hours like this. What a rough life!
