After being tormented and prodded to publish my thoughts and prolific visions (whatever) on the world wide web, I have finally succumbed. I may never forgive myself for this, or get over the public humiliation I will now suffer by sharing my randomness with the world. However, the main reason for my submission is my new daughter, Lucy. I figure I might not have something interesting to say, but she most likely will. Plus, my sister-in-law, Amanda, made this really amazing book for her twin daughters out of her blog.. so I am thinking that will be a possibility for Lucy in the future.
My husband and I were pretty much never popular until this adorably squishy person came into our lives last month, and now we are the life of the party. Ah, how things change so quickly. A month ago my days were filled with reality television, exercise, grading papers, and getting pedicures. Now, they are spent wondering what sleep used to be like, changing diapers (often during mid-mess), and hesitantly questioning what I signed up for over the summer. All in all, a big, scary, sometimes frustrating, but overall exciting change. It has been almost 3 weeks, and every day is a new adventure and new challenge.
I am excited to teach my daughter about all the important things in life... how Starbucks has made the world a better place; Leslie Sansone is next to godliness; QVC clothing sizes make a curvy girl feel so much better about herself; self-soothing can be solely found in the beauty of gelato; shoes make the outfit (even though 2 of her toes are webbed); etc. I am sure I will be posting about more than just my lovely baby girl; but for now expect posts filled with gushing mommy garble and the occasional begging for help.
She is so very cute! I'm impressed that you started a blog. You've inspired me to pick up my blog that I abandoned a while ago!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a fabulous time being a mommy! Can't wait to read your posts!
I am so happy to see this...what a cool way to keep up with my newest granddaughter! I am tempted to start my own with my "Mommilies!" As for tweeting...I'd rather pick up the phone...Grandma
ReplyDeleteLucy, you'd better become a champion napper so you mom has time to visit the innernets. Then teach your cousins.
ReplyDeleteYeah Dana! You've joined the fold. I can't wait to see lots of pictures of Lucy. I'm sure your randomness will keep us all entertained.
ReplyDeleteI am not a blogger, and never planned on being one! However, as I stated earlier, exceptions can be made! Therefore, here I am! Uncle Mark is now hooked!
